Nine years ago I saw my first waterproof MP3 player. It was nothing fancy, in fact, it wasn’t even an MP3 player. It was an AM/FM radio! The iPod wasn’t even created then and MP3’s were still a few years away. A friend of mine from Traralgon (a small town in South Oz) had purchased this amazing little device which we all had big expectations for. She paid upwards of $100 to get this tiny radio with waterproof headphones and we were all excited to use it ourselves. Unfortunately that never happened. The very first time she put the radio into the water, it leaked! The radio was buggered and that was $100 she’d never see again. Fortunately things have changed.
